Although the month of August has come and gone, we are still holding onto a small piece of it. We named this 1 year old gal August because she was found as a stray on the last day of August. This young, energetic girl is a bit of a trickster. In her kennel she seems shy and calm, but once you hook her up for her walk she is ready to go! If you are dreading the cold weather coming up and want to hold onto a little piece of Summer, August may just be that ray of sunshine you need!

Sweet senior Bernadette came to our shelter as an injured stray, possibly hit by a car. She is doing fine and dandy now and is ready for her new home. If you are looking for a total lap cat that loves to be held and snuggled, take a look at Bernadette. She is waiting for YOU!

This big guy is Boy. Boy is a 7-year-old Pit mix and was surrendered to Animal Protectors because his previous owner had some health issues and had to move. Boy walks very well on a leash. Boy does not seem to like most other dogs (or cats), so would be best as an only pet. This handsome guy loves to go for walks and play fetch in our play yards - his favorite toy is his pink bowling pin. He also loves to spend time with people and loves to sit for lots of pets. Does he seem like the perfect Boy for you?

Just looking at this poor girl is painful. Chloe is not even 2 years old and unfortunately developed a severe case of mange. Chloe is a Boxer mix but only weighs 26 pounds. She has started on the road to recovery from this treatable condition. We already see improvements, but she is in need of a home where she can complete her transformation into the beautiful girl she was meant to be.

Dutchess is a 5-year-old pit bull mix. She lived with another un-spayed female and the two dogs did not get along, so she was surrendered to our shelter. This pretty girl is housebroken and walks well on leash. Dutchess is fairly independent but enjoys going on her daily walks and exploring our play yards. We recommend that Dutchess be in a home without children.. If Dutchess seems like a good fit for your household, please stop down to meet her.

Meet from left to right . . . Gunner (14), Sassy (14, sister of Gunner) and Snuggles (7, blind but can detect shapes). All lost their homes due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances. All of these Chihuahuas came from the same home and are very bonded. We are looking for a special home for all three, if possible, but not a requirement of adoption. These are sweet dogs with a lot of love to give.
