Ben

Medium • Young • Male

Tabby - Brown
Ben is just over 1 year old and started life as a stray, living on a porch. After he was brought inside, he couldn't quite feel comfortable and tended to hide. He still hides at the shelter, but volunteers and staff are working to make him more at ease around people. We are confident that he will learn that humans are there to help him, not hurt him.

Chucky

Chucky

Medium • Adult • Female

Domestic Short Hair-black and white
You've heard of a boy named Sue, haven't you? Well, this is a girl named Chucky! She's a little on the chubby side, so her new pet parent should be prepared to cut back on her snacks to help her get her girlish figure back. She's as sweet as can be and just loves to have her head rubbed and scratched. Can you help this gal get back in shape?

Kringle
  • ?bust=1490146487&width=500&-x

Kringle

Medium • Adult • Male

Domestic Short Hair
Kringle's owner needed extensive physical therapy and couldn't find anyone to care for Kringle during that time, so reluctantly had to give him up. Kringle is 5 1/2 years old and once he overcame his initial shyness, has come to be a cat that really desires company. He is always at the front of his cage, asking for a pet on the head or a caress from one of the volunteers. And just look at that beautiful, shiny coat!

Margie

  • ?bust=1479570052&width=500&-x

Margie

Medium • Senior • Female

Tortoiseshell
Margie is one of our wonderful seniors. She came to us as an injured stray and has made herself quite comfy in the shelter office. She's healthy again and is patiently waiting for that perfect home. Let's get this senior into a good 'retirement' home without making her wait too long.

Oscar
  • ?bust=1471260455&width=500&-x
  • ?bust=1471260456&width=500&-x

Oscar

Medium • Adult • Male

Domestic Short Hair - orange and white
Oscar has been with us for a while and has had some health issues. He is doing much better now and is allowed to be loose in the cat room. He is very affectionate and especially likes to be petted behind his ears and on his neck. Oscar is also pretty vocal – if you hear a cat meowing, it is most likely him!

Ricky and Toby

Medium • Adult • Male

Tabby
Ricky and Toby are two buddies looking for a home. Ricky is roughly 2 1/2 and Toby is roughly 5 years old. These two kitties came to Animal Protectors within two weeks of each other and both tested positive for FIV. They are currently hanging out together in a foster home and ,as you can see, have become good pals. They are two of the four cats we recently acquired that are FIV+. Adopting a pair like Ricky and Toby would make their world complete. Adopt one and the other's adoption fee will be waived. Our vet has told us that cats that have FIV can have the same lifespan as any other cat as long as he is kept inside, away from sick cats and has a low stress home. These cats do not require any special medical care or medicines for the FIV and it can only be transmitted to other cats through mating or deep bite wounds. It cannot be transmitted to humans or any other type of animals. If you would like to consider giving this special team a good home, please call the shelter to set up an appointment to meet them. 724-339-7388. They're waiting!
