Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley

Donate Your “Soles” to Animal Protectors!Shoe Drive

We hope you’re in the mood for a little bit of Spring cleaning – we’d like your gently used shoes! We’re holding a Shoe Drive to benefit the cats and dogs at our shelter. By simply cleaning out your closet and making the tough decision to part with some of your old shoes, you can help the animals in our care as they wait for their forever homes.

Our goal is to raise $1,000 that will be used for food, medical expenses, daily supplies and more. The $1,000 goal translates to 100 bags of shoes (25 pairs of shoes per bag). We think that with your help, we can exceed this goal!

Here are the details:

We’ve partnered with Woof Trax, a fundraising organization, to help us with this Shoe Drive. All that we have to do is collect new or gently worn shoes. Woof Trax picks up the shoes and pays us by the weight of what we’ve collected. The shoes are then shipped to developing countries to help entrepreneurs build a successful business for their developing communities. So – this is pretty cool – we’re collecting shoes to help animals locally, and those shoes then help folks around the world!

What kind of shoes can you donate?
Any! We’ll accept dress shoes, boots, sneakers, sandals, kids shoes, ANY kind of shoes. Shoes must be in pairs. Please, no shoes with holes, tears, with the soles falling off or shoes with mold.
